I write particulars of my life in the following:-
I was born at 57 Kowloon Tong Village near Yamatti
on Nov. 24th 1885. About 14 years ago the Government needed the
ground to build offices on so all the houses were pulled down
including the house I was born in, but new ones were erected some
distance further away.
Hong Kong.
My Step-father, Chow King, was a police sergeant in
I came to England in the year 1910 and worked on a ship
until 1917. The captain has retired a long time ago.
On Jan. 16th 1917 I started a confectionery business at
30 Mitcham Road, Tooting, S.W.17. the Landlords name was Mr.
Browning (deceased) he was a very good friend and helped me a great
deal.

I have one letter still in my possesion which he wrote
I stayed at Tooting about six years and then moved to
252 North End Road, West Kensington, W. 14. The Landlord was Mr.

still lives there. After about 3 years at W. Kensington I moved
to No.60 the Broadway, Chricklewood, at a Newsagents and
Tobaconists business but my wife was not in good health so after
eight months I was obliged to sell it.

I next moved to 117 Upper Richmond Rd, Putney on December
28th, 1925, and carried on a Cafe and Confectionery business.
cannot remember the Landlords address at Putney. Messrs. A. W. Taylor.
On Oct. 20th, 1927 I moved to 29 Newington Causeway,
S.E.1. Restaurant, near Elephant & Castle. The Landlords were
The property and Estates Co Ltd until transfered to Messrs. McMullen
and Sons Ltd. Old Cross, Hertford.
I stayed there until I gave up the business on 22/2/30.
I then worked in Restaurants in the City (London) until
1933 I was Chief Steward on the S. S. "Luceric". (Captain J. Mann),
